We have tried to think of everything to encourage the recipient to get outside on a beautiful walk with family, friends or colleagues. There will be a cafe near the start, pub towards the end, great views and interesting places to see along the way. Most walks can be accessed directly by train. All the walks are based on local knowledge and are aimed at those who need some inspiration to get up and out!
It’s not easy to find a great walk in Cornwall directly accessible by train but the Vespucci sleuths have done their research. Arrive at St Ives station (parking a car in St Ives is a nightmare and we would recommend using the car park at St Erth and taking the short and famously beautiful train ride to St Ives). Off to a great start, enjoy the beautiful coastal walk before arriving at Carbis Bay. We then head inland picking up the St Michael’s Way and up to Trencrom Hill. Savour the cresting moment because it is truly world class. With a modicum of luck, your breath will be taken away by the views to the north and south. We will say no more.The next landmark is clearly visible and you leave Trencrom Hill with Knill’s Monument in sight. It’s a gentle pull up mainly on a lane before you reach this vainglorious monument. From here, it is downhill all the way back into St Ives with a plethora of refreshment options at your disposal.
