The oblique angles give the design a bold look while the smooth curved edges and tapering band make this unique ring easy and comfortable to wear.
The dramatic cliffs of the Drakensberg Mountains inspired this asymmetric design. Growing up in South Africa I was struck with awe at the striking angular peaks of the mountains and the breath-taking precipice of plunging rocks.

Made from
All of my jewellery is handmade in my workshop on a Dutch Barge in East London. This unique ring is hand carved out of wax and cast in sterling silver.
The gold is fused onto the silver using an ancient Japanese technique called Keum Boo. This technique is accomplished by first depleting a surface of sterling silver to bring up a thin layer of fine silver. Then 24 carat gold foil is applied with heat and pressure— mechanical gilding —to produce a permanent diffusion bond. The silver is oxidised black creating a beautiful striking contrast with the gold.
