Stargazing in Wales with your very own astronomer under some of the darkest skies in the UK!

A unique opportunity for you and your family to take a tour of the night sky, viewing familiar and unfamiliar constellations of the northern hemisphere, discover various deep sky objects such as the Orion Nebula all accompanied by your very own astronomer. Hear the stories of the constellations before using binoculars to navigatate the stars and correctly setting up a telescope. Look through the telescopes then photograph some of the magnificent sights in the night sky. No prior knowledge or equipment needed, but feel free to bring both!
LOCATION: Brecon Beacons, Elan Valley - Cambrian Mountains or Broad Haven South Beach, Pembrokeshire in Wales.
DURATION: 3 hours.
WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
The family evening is restricted to a small group of max 4 people and the start time varies according to the time of year to ensure darkness. There are provisions to ensure that even if the weather is a little unaccommodating there will still be opportunities to use the equipment and learn about the skies, but there is a risk of the activity being cancelled in the event of forecast gales or predicted cloud cover. In this instance we will contact you in advance, but please retain your voucher/s as arrangements can be made for you to rearrange for a future date.
